The Complete Career & Life Decision Making System for Overwhelmed People

The DecisionMaker Isn't Just a Tool, It's a Regret Minimization System

10/10/10 DecisionMaker

What is the Method behind the DecisionMaker?

This powerful decision-making system combines two methods to give you complete clarity:

The Weighted Scoring Method removes emotion by having you:

  • Identify what matters most (your criteria)
  • Rank their importance (1-7)
  • Score how well each option meets each criterion (1-7)

The 10/10/10 Timeframe Method reveals emotional truth by asking how you'll feel about each choice:

  • In 10 minutes - Your immediate emotional reaction
  • In 10 months - Your medium-term perspective
  • In 10 years - Your long-term life view

Often, what feels urgent right now becomes insignificant with time. What scores highest logically might not feel right emotionally. When both methods point to the same answer, you have unshakeable clarity.

Example: "Should I quit my job today after a bad meeting?"

Weighted scores might show staying wins (financial security, benefits)
10/10/10 shows: 10 minutes = relieved, 10 months = regret acting impulsively, 10 years = grateful you didn't burn bridges
Both methods agree: Don't quit impulsively

Tips for Using The DecisionMaker Effectively:

  • Write freely without judging yourself - this is private reflection
  • Be honest about fears and motivations - you can't make good decisions based on denial
  • If you're struggling, start with 10 years first - it often provides the clearest perspective
  • If scoring feels uncertain, give your best estimate - patterns emerge even with rough numbers
  • Trust the process - the answer often becomes clear by the time you finish

The Decision I'm Facing

Write it as clearly and specifically as possible. What exactly are you deciding?

My Options

List all the realistic choices you have. Include "do nothing" if that's an option. You can add as many options as you like.

What Matters Most To Me?

Identify the criteria that will determine your choice and rank their importance (1-7, where 7 = very important). This will help you weight your decision objectively.

Criteria will appear here after the decision input is filled and at least two options are added.

Score each option

Add options to rate this criterion for each option.
